Countdown to Festival
To the Nativity Parish Community
The Festival Committee met earlier this month to discuss the possibility of having a festival for 2021. We are going to move forward with some kind of scaled-back festival this year!
In order to make the Festival a success this year, and in the years to come it is imperative that we have the volunteers needed to chair some of the major booths and replace the current committee chairs. We are currently looking to fill the following positions by April 15, 2021.
- Bid N Buy Booth Chair
- Basket Raffle Booth Chair
- Grand Raffle Booth Chair
- Festival Volunteer Coordinator – You would shadow this year and take over next year
- Festival Committee Chair(s) – You would shadow this year and take over next year
If you are interested in volunteering for one of these positions more information can be found below. Feel free to contact any member of the Festival Committee and we would be happy to discuss it with you. If these positions are not filled, by April 15, 2021, we will be forced to cancel the festival.
Assuming we get the volunteers needed, below is the current plan. We plan to bring the festival back in phases based on COVID protocols and available volunteers.
Phase 1 – Currently planning for
- Food Trucks
- Live Music
- Bid N Buy
- Basket Booth
- Grand Raffle
Phase 2 – Actively Working on
- How to limit cash transitions at each booth
- Adding games that require little to no touch/interaction like Bars and Bells, Crazy Hats
Phase 3 – Future plans
- How to rework, or properly sanitize high touch games like Football Toss
Not returning this year due to COVID-19
- The Rummage Sale
- The Nativity Food Booth
- Gambling Tent
- Baked Sale Booth
We are excited to bring the Fall Fest back after the cancellation last year! As always, thank you for your support.

Festival Volunteer Opportunities
The festival committee is looking to fill the following volunteer positions no later than April 15. If you are interested or would like more information please let us know.
Bid N Buy Booth Chair – The Bid N Buy is one of the busiest and highest profiting booths at the Fall Fest. This leadership role requires communication with businesses, school/church families, the basket raffle team, and volunteers. The basket raffle and bid and buy chairpersons work together to make the best possible combinations of donated and purchased items to auction/raffle the fall fest. Planning for Bid & Buy needs to begin ASAP. This year we are planning to move Bid N Buy online to make the bid, checkout, and pickup process easier for all involved! Want to tackle this booth as a team? Great idea…. let’s get started!
Basket Raffle Chair – The basket raffle booth chair works with the Parish as well as school classrooms to collect items to create fun-themed baskets for the fall fest. Baskets are raffled during the festival. The basket raffle and bid and buy chairpersons work together to make the best possible combinations of donated and purchased items to auction/raffle the fall fest.
Grand Raffle Booth Chair – will work with the parish office team in running the raffle, assist with communication to both the parish and the school, and staff the booth the weekend of the festival. The parish office staff will order the raffle tickets and you will help with the rest!
Fall Fest Volunteer Coordinator – If you are looking for a way to volunteer in the comfort of your own home, this is the role for you! The Fall Fest Volunteer Coordinator contacts Fall Fest booth chairs, accumulating volunteer needs to create the master signup genius for the Fall Fest. They also work to recruit volunteers through the school newsletter and the church bulletin. All of this work is done at your convenience and training is provided! Janet Nawroth is currently in this position and will stay on the committee to continue to assist with Fall Fest communications. This will be a shadowing year for whoever takes over this position
Festival Chairperson – The chairperson is responsible for overseeing all of the aspects of the festival. You will need to schedule regular monthly meetings to keep everything on task and to make sure all booth chairpersons have what they need to get their booths organized. Is responsible for working with outside parties to obtain music, staging, permits, alcohol, food, and items for church grounds for the week of the festival. Need to be able to be available the week of the festival to help with set up, tear down, and during festival hours. This is a fun opportunity to get a group of people together to do something great for the church and school. Scott and Haidee Schlegel are currently in this position. This will be a shadowing year for whoever takes over this position
