I hope the first few weeks went well for you and your family and you are settling into the routines of returning to school. I wanted to take a minute to remind everyone of the primary communication channels that we use on a regular basis so that you can make sure you are receiving all the important information from Nativity.
NativityNews – sent each week on Tuesday during the school year NativityNews covers a variety of information from both the school and the parish. It is a vital part of our communication and we recommend everyone add firstname.lastname@example.org to their address book to ensure they are receiving the newsletter. We also recommend checking your junk or spam folder if you have not been receiving the newsletter. Submissions for the newsletter are due by noon on Friday and can be submitted online here or at the link at the very bottom of the newsletter in the grey area.
Text Messaging – Nativity uses OneCallNow for occasional text messages like early dismissals, snow days, etc. We recommend every parent sign up for text messaging and anyone in your family who might need important information from the school. All parents are added to the system but must opt into the system by texting ALERT to 22300 in order to receive messages. We are only able to import parents so if grandparents, nannies, etc. need to receive text messages they can sign up by going to https://www.mycallnow.com/?G=DvPrqzGzJZRSpHcGa2fbag%3d%3d and clicking Sign Up under new users.
The Nativity Website – We have made some updates to the homepage of the school website as well as the Current Families page to make it easier for parents to navigate and find the things they use the most. We will continue to refine this over time but hope that these changes will make it easier for parents to get to the information they need quicker.
Family Portal (formerly ParentsWeb) – We recently made some updates to the Family Portal (http://familyportal.nativity-cincinnati.org) and will be using this as an additional source of information for Parents. Each time you log in you will now see important information right on the front page. These announcements are reminders of information that was sent in the newsletter or other communications prior to being posted on RenWeb.
Update your information – If you need to update your information at any time, we ask that you do so by going to the Family Portal and click on School > Web Forms > Family Demographics > From there you can update information about your student such as:
- their medical needs
- parent information
- emergency contacts
By using the form it ensures the information gets quickly updated and entered into RenWeb.
