St. Ann’s Altar Society

, ,

Have you ever felt the need to serve others, but not know where to start? Nativity’s St. Ann’s Altar Society, the longest standing organization in the parish, provides the perfect outlet to reach out to those in need within our parish, as well as throughout our community. Serve with others who share the belief that service is WHO we are, not WHAT we do.

We work with:

  • Children: Always serving as passers on of our Catholic faith, St. Ann’s organizes the parish’s Outdoor Stations of the Cross During Lent. Hand-created stations and wording from school children are placed around the school grounds and are visited by different grade school classes and parishioners throughout the day. Through our “Prayer Partner” program, we match a First Communicant with a parishioner to help prepare spiritually for the special sacrament of Initiation. Every October during the month of the Rosary, members also explain and pray the rosary with our school’s third graders (and parents).
  • Community: Join us in our yearly “Feed the Need” program to raise funds for St. Vincent de Paul clients. Or…help with our seasonal favorite, the “Craft & Bake Sale.” All proceeds support The Caring Place, a local outreach organization for those in need. Want more one-on-one outreach? Visit our neighbors at the nursing home to take them communion or entertain them with our monthly bingo games.
  • Parish: You can also help fulfill our commitment to the parish to provide baptismal bibs and care for vestments and altar linens. We also purchase items/services for the church i.e. hot water converter for sacristy sink, additional wine goblets, etc…
  • Each Other: St. Ann members pray together (the rosary, every Friday morning…and sponsor other occasional faith-building speaker events. We gather each year at Christmas for Mass and a special breakfast to review – and celebrate – our service efforts.

Whatever your need to serve, St. Ann’s has a faith-filled opportunity with your name on it!
