The Caring Place is an ecumenical organization whose goal is to help those in the community who struggle financially, emotionally or spiritually to overcome temporary obstacles and develop a more stable lifestyle. It is sponsored by eight area churches, of which Nativity is one. Two members of each church serve on the Board of Directors.
The Caring Place has a food pantry, clothing room and gives limited financial assistance for rent, utilities and other necessary client needs. It is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm.
Volunteers are needed to help in many areas, such as direct service of clients, stocking pantry shelves, sorting clothes, working on fundraising and publicity, light cleaning and some computer work. Special help is needed for holiday projects. We gladly accept donations of food, personal care products, household items, clothing, and, of course, monetary donations are always welcome. If you have the desire to serve others, we have a place for you.
