PROCESSIONAL

Lift Up Your Heads, Ye Mighty Gates #69
TRURO

1. Lift up your heads, ye mighty gates;
Behold the King of glory waits!
The King of kings is drawing near;
The Savior of the world is here.

2. O blest the land, the city blest,
Where Christ the ruler is confest!
O happy hearts and happy homes
To whom this King of triumph comes!

3. Fling wide the portals of your heart;
Make it a temple, set apart
From earthly use for heav'n's employ,
Adorned with prayer and love and joy.

4. So come, my Sov'reign; enter in!
Let new and nobler life begin;
Thy Holy Spirit guide us on,
Until the glorious crown be won.

Text: LM; based on Psalm 24; George Weissel, 1590 - 1635; tr. by Catherine
Winkworth, 1827 - 1878.  Music: Williams' Psalmodia Evangelica, Part II, 1789.

PSALM

R. Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.
I rejoiced because they said to me,
"We will go up to the house of the LORD."
And now we have set foot
within your gates, O Jerusalem.
R. Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.
Jerusalem, built as a city
with compact unity.
To it the tribes go up,
the tribes of the LORD.
R. Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.
According to the decree for Israel,
to give thanks to the name of the LORD.
In it are set up judgment seats,
seats for the house of David.
R. Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
May those who love you prosper!
May peace be within your walls,
prosperity in your buildings.
R. Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.
Because of my brothers and friends
I will say, "Peace be within you!"
Because of the house of the LORD, our God,
I will pray for your good.
R. Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Show us Lord, your love;
and grant us your salvation.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

OFFERTORY

Come, Lord! Maranatha #66
Ricky Manalo CSP

Advent Week 1
1. Now is the time to wake from sleep;
salvation is close at hand.
Moving from night into day,
lift up your voices and pray:

Refrain (Weeks 1-3)
Come, Lord! Maranatha!
Come and bring us your peace.
Come, Lord, Maranatha!
Come to us; set us free.
Come, Lord, and bring us your peace.

2. Cast off the deeds of the dark.
Put on the armor of light.
Turn to the source of the day.
Lift up your voices and pray:

3. Constantly watch, stay awake.
No one can know the time.
Whether at dusk or at dawn,
we sing this prayer and song:

4. Increase in faith; abound in love.
Strengthen our hearts this day.
So be on your guard and stay awake.
Come, lift up your voices and pray:

COMMUNION

Bread of Life (Advent/Christmas Setting) #72
Bernadette Farrell

Refrain
Bread of life, hope of the world,
Jesus Christ, our brother:
feed us now, give us life,
lead us to one another.

1. Be with your people, Lord,
send us your saving Word:
Jesus Christ, light of gladness,
come among us now.

2. Bring to our world of fear
the truth we long to hear:
Jesus Christ, hope of ages,
come to save us now.

3. A child is born for us,
a son is giv'n to us,
In our midst, Christ, our Lord and God
comes as one who serves.

4. With our own eyes we see,
with our own ears we hear
The salvation of all the world,
God's incarnate Word.

5. You are the hope of all,
our promise and our call,
Radiant light in our darkness,
truth to set us free.

RECESSIONAL

Let the Valleys Be Raised #50
Dan Schutte

Refrain
Let the valleys be raised
and the mountains made low.
Ev'ry meadow and field overturn.
Make the pathway straight
and the highway run smooth
for the coming of God in our day.

1. God, you come to your people
as you promised of old.
You have raised up a Savior
in the sight of us all.

2. You, little child, go before him
like the prophets of old,
bringing news of his coming
by the mercy of God.

3. God, you come like the morning
on the darkness of night,
as a light to the people,
like the breaking of day.
