PROCESSIONAL

The King of Kings, Christ Jesus Reigns #731
ICH GLAUB AN GOTT / Mainz Gesangbuch / Melvin Farrell SS

1. The King of Kings, Christ Jesus reigns
The Lord of ev'ry nation;
In loving wisdom he ordains
The course of all creation!
Christ, we adore you!
Christ, we implore you:
Christ, keep us ever before you!

2. Eternal King, Christ is God's Word
From endless ages spoken;
Enfleshed on earth, his voice was heard
And Satan's might was broken!
Christ, we adore you!
Christ, we implore you:
Christ, keep us ever before you!

3. O risen King, you light the way
To heaven's glorious portal;
If in our hearts your truth has sway,
We too have life immortal!
Christ, we adore you!
Christ, we implore you:
Christ, keep us ever before you!

PSALM

R. (cf. 1) Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.
I rejoiced because they said to me,
"We will go up to the house of the LORD."
And now we have set foot
within your gates, O Jerusalem.
R. Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.
Jerusalem, built as a city
with compact unity.
To it the tribes go up,
the tribes of the LORD.
R. Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.
According to the decree for Israel,
to give thanks to the name of the LORD.
In it are set up judgment seats,
seats for the house of David.
R. Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is to come!
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

OFFERTORY

At the Name of Jesus #730
Christopher Walker

Refrain
At the name of Jesus, ev'ry knee shall bow,
ev'ry tongue confess him: King of glory now.
Jesus is Lord, King of glory now!

1. He emptied himself, as a slave, yet free,
came in human likeness for you and for me;
in human likeness for you and for me.

2. He humbled himself, and obeyed God's will.
On a cross he died on Calvary's hill;
for you and me he obeyed God's will.

3. God exalted him, raised him up on high,
so above all others his name will not die;
that name we honor and glorify.

4. Christ Jesus will come at the end of time,
come with jubilation to call us home.
Until that day you and I will proclaim:

COMMUNION

Hymn to Christ the King #726
Sarah Hart/Josh Blakesley/Sarah Kroger/Ike Ndolo

1. Oh, we were wand’ring in the dark;
we had lost our hope and way.
And we were restless in our hearts;
how we needed to be saved.
And so to rescue all your own
you sent to us your only son.
A light to fall, a peace to bring:
the coming of our Christ, the King.

2. The Word made flesh, the light from light,
a cry that pierced our endless noise.
A child to speak into our pain,
restoring unto us our joy.
To teach our hearts and heal our wounds,
replace our doubt with heaven's truth.
The broken, healed, the lost, redeemed:
the beauty of our Christ, the King.

3. Though heaven's glory he had shown,
all our praises turned to scorn.
The gift of mercy that he gave,
we returned with cross and thorn.
Yet to the end he loved us still,
surrendered to the Father's will.
Forgiveness was his offering:
the mercy of our Christ, the King.

4. And though they laid him in the tomb,
in the silence of the grave;
no stone could keep the love of God
from the ones he came to save.
And so in pow'r and radiant light
he vanquished death and rose to life.
Now with the heavens I shall sing
the glory of our Christ, the King.

RECESSIONAL

Hail, Redeemer, King Divine #734
ST. GEORGE'S WINDSOR / George J. Elvey / Patrick Brennen

1. Hail, redeemer, king divine!
Priest and lamb, the throne is thine;
King whose reign shall never cease,
Prince of everlasting peace.

Refrain
Angels, saints and nations sing:
"Praised be Jesus Christ, our king;
Lord of earth and sky and sea,
King of love on Calvary."

2. King of everlasting might!
Be to us eternal light,
Till in peace each nation rings
With thy praises, king of kings.
